Michaela met Patrick on the set of Survivor Buffalo in Akron, NY, in September 2020. She was playing the game, and Patrick was filming the show. After the game was over, they hit it off and formed a lasting friendship. After two years, they decided to start dating and took their friendship to the next level. They were long-distance dating until 2024, when Michaela moved to Rhode Island. They got engaged on August 9th, 2025, after 5 years of friendship and nearly 3 years of dating.
